Associated Professor ICT and the changing educational methods.

In September of 2003, the Noordelijke Hogeschool Leeuwarden (NHL) started a new department of Educational teaching methods within the ICT sector.
This department is incorporated within the Education and Communication division of the NHL.
Associated Professor Jan Lepeltak was given the task with a central question “What are the extra values and advantages that are obtained when ICT is used during the learning process with students”?

The chosen work method.

• Create a team of lecturer’s from the NHL together with teachers from primary and secondary school’s fore developing pilot studies.

• Implementation of educational experiments in the North of the Netherlands in secondary school’s, primary school’s and the education division of the NHL. The results of the experiments will be published and used by the Northern Learning Network and will offer information assisting the development of new teaching method’s using ICT.

• Work together with existing and well proven ICT groups in the North of the Netherlands. With a group of secondary school’s who has developed their own network (ICT-Noord) and also in conjunction with ECNO, a trainings institution for secondary school teachers, GCO a training institution for Primary school teachers.
